What to Expect When Building a New Home: Your Top Questions Answered

Building a new home is an exciting milestone — but it also comes with a lot of questions. Whether you’re just starting to explore your options or you’re ready to take the next step, understanding the process can help you feel confident and prepared.

Below, we’re answering some of the most common questions future homeowners ask when considering new construction.

1. How long does it take to build a new home?
On average, construction can take anywhere from 4-6 months depending on the floor plan, structural options and weather.

2. What cities in Dallas-Fort Worth do you build in?
We have communities in Aledo, Arlington, Benbrook, Burleson, Celina, Cleburne, Denton, Fort Worth, Joshua, Justin, Midlothian, New Fairview, North Richland Hills, and Waxahachie. We also have a Build on Your Lot program if you have a lot in the DFW area!

3. How do I know how much my monthly payment is?
Our preferred lender has a helpful mortgage calculator to show you monthly payments with insurance, taxes and HOA included that is specific to each community. I’m happy to provide the calculator for the community you're interested in.

4. Can I make changes to the floor plan?
Yes! We offer a large variety of structural options like extra bedrooms, bathrooms, vaulted ceilings, and much more so you can personalize your home to fit your needs.

5. Do you offer warranties?
Our homes come with a builder warranty for peace of mind, covering workmanship and structural components up to 10 years.

6. Can I use my own lender?
You’re welcome to use the lender of your choice. Our preferred lender offers competitive rates and you can receive great incentives on rate buydowns or closing costs.
