In just seven years, the population of Celina has nearly doubled to an estimated 11,000. It provides easy access to Frisco, McKinney, Plano, and Dallas. Although it's currently a small town, it's prepared to support a population of 350k. The Texas Historical Commission and the National Trust for Historic Preservation has recognized Celina as an Official Main Street City. The Texas Main Street Program aims to provide resources, expertise, and support to Texas communities to help them preserve and revitalize historic downtowns and commercial neighborhoods. This is the time to jump in before everyone discovers this hidden gem. Sutton Fields is a new master planned community in Celina located north of Hwy. 380 and FM 1385. Fun Things to Do in Celina Celina has all the trappings found in a big city: farmer's markets, Movies on the Square, 4th of July celebration, Halloween trick 'r treating, and more. Its signature event is Cajun Fest, a weekend-long celebration of the Cajun culture. No Cajun event would be complete without crawfish broil and there's lots of it here. Currently being renovated, Preston Streams Park is sure to be a frequent stop as it's behind Celina High School's Bobcat Football Stadium. Prosper ISD Schools Students who live in Sutton Fields attend schools in the Prosper Independent School District, which serves 10,000 students in 10 schools. PISD will meet the growing needs of the community as it's building a Natatorium, new 12,000-seat stadium, two elementary schools, a third middle school, and a second high school. PISD's mission is to "develop and graduate motivated, academically prepared individuals with the strength of character to make contribution to a rapidly changing society through an educational system that maintains high expectations, provides quality instruction, and establishes a safe, orderly, learning environment in the community that lives its name." Here's a cool fact. The district has its own police department ensuring the safety of students and staff. This allows PISD to bridge the gap between police and kids.
