Show us your land 

If you already own your land, Sandlin Homes offers a complimentary home site evaluation for those interested in building outside of our communities. But if you’re still on the hunt for your dream property and need some guidance, we’re happy to do that as well. In fact, the majority of our build-on-your-lot customers do not have land when they first meet with us. We are always one step ahead to help you through the process—we work closely with realtors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who can help you find an ideal home site. 

Pick the perfect plan

Just because you don’t want to live in a Sandlin community doesn’t mean you have to miss out on our well-designed floor plans. When you choose to build on your lot with us, you have access to 29 unique floor plans that will check off everything on your wishlist for a new-construction home. If you’ve browsed through our plans and find one that’s almost perfect, we can work with you to make changes to our existing plans. Whether it’s something as simple as adding a window or as extensive as gaining extra square footage with a bonus room, we don’t have a problem customizing our plans to meet your needs. 

We’ve earned our reputation as a trusted builder in the area, and homebuyers have brought us completely custom floor plans to build for them. Our team will evaluate your plans and provide an estimated cost to build. 

Understand the timeline 

The benefits of building your home from the ground up are endless—however, we understand that people with tighter timeliness will often shy away from this option. A few factors determine the timeline of your new home’s completion date, such as permitting, inspections and weather. Generally, it will take approximately five to six months to build your home from the start of foundation to completion. Every homebuyer will receive one-on-one attention from our building specialist to keep you involved and up-to-date with every step of the process. 

Find a financing option 

When financing the build of your new-construction home, you will need to secure a construction loan. Sandlin Homes can connect you with our preferred lenders, who will guide you through the construction loan process. Building a new home on your property requires a different process than purchasing an existing home or out of a community.
